Livonia Public Schools

From Isolina D.  Carlini, Coordinator of Livonia Public Schools First Programs:

Livonia Public Schools sees our district-wide robotics program as a point of pride.  Their new home at the Livonia Career Tech Center is a beautiful, purposeful workspace.  It provides space for our secondary program to work and practice, and a great place for our elementary robotics teams to visit for practice and fun.   There is a strong connection between our robotics program and our educational programs, especially in the areas of science, math, and other technical fields.  The teams provide great experiences for our students. They can learn about teamwork and reliance on each other as they go about building and competing with their robot. They learn about the business aspect of the real world by working with our business partners in finances and marketing strategies. Our students are involved in competitions and learn how to compete and cooperate with other teams to be able to achieve their desired results.

Being a part of our Robotics Team also allows our students to expand their horizons and see things beyond the regular school opportunities. Some of these opportunities can turn into college scholarships, internships, and business contacts that our students can use as they move forward with their education and career planning. Students graduating from our robotics programs learn employability skills and professionalism that set them apart.  These are a few of the reasons why I know the Livonia Warriors Robotics Team benefits our students.
